The Product

Weftbar Whip In Invisible Hair Extensions are one-piece, clip-free, glue-free hair extensions that instantly thickens and lengthens real hair with the aid of a transparent wire hidden undetectably under your real hair. It’s called Whip In because it only takes three quick steps to “whip” the extensions into place. These 18-inch invisible hair extensions come in three weight variations so that you can select your extensions based on the volume of your real hair (FinerMedium to Thick or Thicker) or based on the volume you want to add to your real hair (Sassy to add 3 ounces, $165; Posh to add 4 ounces, $205; and Chic to add 5 ounces, $245). Made of 100% natural Remy human hair in a body wave texture that can be worn curly, wavy or straight using a curling iron, a flat iron or hair curlers, the Whip In is available in seven popular hair colors.

The Verdict

The verdict is in and I’m shooting straight from the hip: The Weftbar Whip In Invisible Hair Extensions in Sassy Volume ($165; weftbar.com) is basically the best hair styling tool I’ll ever need. I’ve always loved sporting large, Larger, LUSH hair, but I’ve never been a fan of wearing clip ins because the excess weight pulled my hair. Plus, I was never able to master placing the clip ins in the same place every time, which meant I never captured the same full look each time I wore them. So, of course, when I heard about these clipless extensions, I knew I had to try them out.

The look and feel of the extensions is vibrant, thick and rich. The Whip In comes with a hanger and a storage bag that resembles a mini garment bag, except it’s especially made for protecting hair extensions in storage or travel. Because it’s one size fits all I was worried that it wouldn’t fit my large head or worse, it would squeeze my head too tightly. Fortunately the wire attachment is quite stretchy, and my fears were quickly put to rest. As a matter of fact, I hardly felt the extensions at all.

The application is quite simple: you place it, pull it and blend it. So with the transparent wire facing front I placed the Whip In on my head like I would a headband. Then I pulled the back of the Whip In down towards the nape of my neck until it was resting beneath the base of my skull. Using my fingers (Weftbar recommends a rat tail comb) I pulled my real hair from underneath the wire over top until it and the weft of the extensions “disappeared” from sight. Finally, I used a comb to blend my hair with the extensions. I actually pre-curled my real hair to make blending easier. Wow! If I didn’t know better I would think that this was my real hair. And it really did take me less than three minutes to apply the Whip In, quicker than I had anticipated.

I would totally recommend these Whip In Invisible Hair Extensions to any woman (or man, I’m not judging) who wants to instantly transform her fine, flat locks into full-bodied, free-flowing hair.
