Skin Problems Solved #1: The Best Facial Cleansers for Clear Skin
This is the first in a four-topic series that covers specific skin issues. Today, it’s all about getting clear skin with the help of the best facial cleansers for clear skin.
It’s hard to believe that Joy Bryant’s skin is actually this perfect. So we won’t. I’m happy just thinking, that she (like us normal folks) had to enlist the help of dry skin lotion products to get skin this angelic. However Joy’s skin came to be, the moral of the story is – don’t hate the player, hate the game ladies.
If your goal is to just maintain your complexion or even keep itsy, bitsy zits away, there are many facial cleanser options that do the trick:
Kiehl’s Blue Herbal Gel Cleanser ($20.50, kiehls.com) is a product from my not-so-distant past. Aside from the activating ingredient of salicylic acid which clears your skin of acne blemishes, this product also contains extracts of Cinnamon Bark and Ginger Root to also aid in the treatment of blemishes. Before I found my super dermatologist, Dr. Elena Jones, I searched far and wide for facial cleansing products that helped to treat my extremely oily skin and this was among my many finds.
For those of you with reactive skin (i.e. sensitive skin), you should look for products that soothe and calm your face. Look no further than the natural skin care product, Jurlique Soothing Foaming Cleanser ($40, jurlique.com). This line works gently to lift away surface impurities with ingredients such as groomwell and sichuan peppercorn. You’ll notice after you’ve washed your face with this product that it leaves your skin feeling comfortable.
Aqua Glycolic Facial Cleanser ($14.59, cvs.com) is great for all skin types and is also non-drying. The activating ingredient is Glycolic Acid (derived from sugar cane) which opens up acne impactions and works as a good exfoliator. This product can also be used for shaving sensitive areas, such as the bikini line, face and underarms. I currently use this product daily and my clear skin swears by it.
Tip: Get an even cleaner face. Squeeze a dime size of facial cleanser onto a damp chamois like Nicole Reed’s Facial Chamois 9”x 9” ($6, bebeautiful.com) and deep clean your face while you gently massage it.
Hue Knew It? I did.
