BB Creams: The New It Product in Skin Care

Get yourself familiar the new “it” product of skin care: BB creams from Vichy, The Body Shop, Sarah McNamara, and Laura Mercier.

If you weren’t a part of the cool crowd growing up, then now’s your chance to be cool because here’s your chance to get the scoop on the “it” product of the moment – BB creams! The ‘BB’ in BB creams stands for beauty balm and they’re all the rage because they offer multiple benefits in one cute package, which save you precious time and money – all plusses in this beauty blogger’s book for sure.

Take for instance Vichy ProEVEN Mineral BB Cream ($32.50, ulta.com), which contains high purity mineral pigments and vitamins C and E to even skin tone, conceal dark spots and hydrate. ProEven sadly only comes in light & medium – definitely not okay with me. The research & development team had better get with the program quick, fast and in a hurry and include dark if Vichy is to compete with other bb creams whose shade selections are far more extensive. Vichy claims that you’ll see flawless, spotless skin in 4 weeks and this is where of YOU comes in! Please keep see below.

The Body Shop All-In-One BB Cream ($20, thebodyshop-usa.com) offers three shades which initially starts off white and eventually warms to your complexion. Now that’s what I’m talkin’ ’bout – customizable makeup! All-In-One evens skin tone as it delivers 24 hours of pure hydration.

While not marketed as a BB cream, Miracle Skin Transformer SPF 20 by Sarah McNamara ($48, sephora.com) certainly has the right stuff to be one because it’s a five-in-one formula designed to hydrate, prime, enhance, mattify and protect your skin in a single step. And guess what? Transformer comes in a whopping eight shades. Hallelujah! The color is buildable and smooths over little imperfections like fine lines and Transformer makes you look airbrushed perfect.

For those of you looking to conceal slightly heavier hiccups without the weight of a foundation, a BB cream isn’t the best product choice for you, but a tinted moisturizer like HKI’s favorite – Laura Mercier’s Tinted Moisturizer, SPF 20 Oil-Free ($43) might just be.
