The Pros and Cons of Anti-Aging Laser Treatments

Laser Treatments

If you feel like the condition of your skin has practically deteriorated over night, you probably want to fix the problem just as fast. Unfortunately, there are no such things as immediate quick fixes. However, you could opt for a face lift or other skin tightening surgery to get semi-immediate results, but more often than not, a more gradual approach to you reaching your skincare goals is less expensive, safer, and more convenient.

There are many anti-aging skincare products and treatments on today’s market. Lotions and creams are among the most common and popular. Other options include things like intense pulsed light (IPL) treatment and sound wave therapy. There are also multiple types of laser devices available for skincare.

Jumping Straight Into Invasive Skincare Treatments

While there are a lot of great laser treatments on the market today that can treat a variety of skin problems, jumping right into have one of these  aesthetic treatments might not be the best idea. It’s entirely possible that less invasive treatments like creams and lotions can help you, especially if your skin concerns are nothing more than minor wrinkles.

Unhealthy Skin Cream and Lotion Ingredients

The best way to start caring for your skin early on is to establish a daily routine that involves the application of lotions or creams to the impacted areas. You can buy many of those products over the counter at local drugstores. But you should only select a lotion or cream that contains healthy ingredients.

Skin creams can contain a lot of different ingredients, and some of them are not healthy at all. For example, any skin creams that contain petroleum products or similar ingredients are capable of clogging pores and causing acne outbreaks or other skin problems, rather than correcting skin issues. Meanwhile, skin products containing sulphates or man-made chemicals can dry out your skin or otherwise damage it.

Healthy Anti-Aging Skin Cream Ingredients to Look For

On the other hand, plenty of ingredients in skin creams are quite healthy. Among them are Retinol (Vitamin A), peptides, alpha hydroxyl acids (AHAs), and estrogen. Antioxidants are also excellent for protecting, strengthening, and repairing skin cells.

It’s also important to remember that just because a cream or lotion contains a couple healthy ingredients doesn’t make it safe. If it also contains unhealthy chemicals or ingredients it should be avoided. But there are plenty avail creams and lotions available that are quite safe and effective. It is also possible to get prescriptions for specially medicated lotions or creams, depending on the severity of your skin problems.

Lotions and Creams Together with Other Skincare Treatments

Some creams and lotions are actually best when used along with other skincare treatments, such as certain laser treatments or micro-needling therapies. That’s because lasers or needles can prepare the skin to receive lotions in a faster and more efficient way.

Whatever skincare method or methods you choose, be sure to do so with the help of your clinician or dermatologist who can recommend a treatment course perfectly suited for your skin, budget, and preferences.

Be Patient, if You Want to Succeed at Anti-Aging Processes

Remember that patience is a virtue when it comes to skincare. Not every treatment is going to give you good results, and most certainly won’t give you good results the same day. It takes time for your skin to start healing, and it may also take multiple treatments to get the level of healing you’re seeking.
