Spring Makeup Tutorial: Get A Vibrant Beauty Look

When random people on the streets stop to take up close pictures of you during a photo shoot, that’s a compliment right? I’m pretty certain that my colorful eyelashes and faux cheekbones had something to do with the attention I was getting one warm Spring day in New York City.

If you’re curious about how to do your makeup like a beauty blogger this spring, check out these steps and products:

ON MY FACE

HueKnewIt.com beauty blogger Gregorie Guillaume gives readers a spring makeup tutorial for getting her vibrant beauty look. What I love about Becca Cosmetics Perfect Mineral Powder Foundation ($40, sephora.com) is everything! Before I applied concealer under my eyes and on my blemishes, I first applied the finely milled, Perfect Mineral in Bamboo with a powder brush in a circular motion and as expected, it went on like a dream making my skin look airbrush-perfect. In fact, this picture wasn’t airbrushed at all…talk about a great product!

As a chiseled-cheek challenged woman, it was important that I etch some definition into my face in order to create two-dimensional interest. I used the darkest shade in the It Cosmetics My Sculpted Face Contouring Palette ($38, itcosmetics.com) on the hollows of my cheeks  and along either side of my nose so it would appear straighter and then I used the lighter shadow down the center of my nose so that area would stand out.

ON MY EYES

To get my mindset in model mode I used Too Faced Cosmetics Boudoir Eyes Eyeshadow Collection ($36, toofaced.com). Of the three looks this kit shows you how to create, I went with Fashion because it uses the most intense of all the colors but isn’t overwhelming.

Step 1: From the crease of my eye to my brow I used Birthday Suit.

Step 2: Blend Lap Dance on my crease and lid.

Step 3: Apply French Ticker on upper lash line and extend the line outward.

The more eyelashes the better I say, so I opted for Ardell’s newest line called Color Impact which, depending on the lash shade enhances your eye color. I chose Ardell Demi Whipsies in blue ($5.49, sallybeauty.com, also sold at Target, Walgreens & CVS) to help enhance my brown eyes. Whatcha think?

ON MY LIPS

I needed a color that wouldn’t fade or bleed, so the obvious choice was Sephora Collection Cream Lip Stain in 01 Always Red ($12, sephora.com). No lip liner needed, although I did use one…don’t judge me.
