François Nars studied the models in Man Ray’s photographs for the shape of a lip, the strike of eyeliner, the space where rouge began and ended, and the way it all worked in contrast to the porcelain veneer of skin.[vc_empty_space height=”5px”]

François was gripped by Man Ray’s daring use of lighting, sharp minimalism of his compositions, and a certain wittiness and irreverence of subject matter that provoked and challenged the viewer to see something in an unconventional way.
