NYFW FW18 Backstage Beauty: Maybelline For LaQuan Smith

Studio 54 fused with ‘90s supermodels at LaQuan Smith’s FW 2018 show. Playing off the full-throttle velvet and sequined looks boasting curve-hugging silhouettes and thigh-high slits, Grace Lee for Maybelline New York created “high glamour” eye inspired by Grace Jones with a 90s frosted lip done in rich burgundy and gold for today’s modern woman.

BACKSTAGE BEAUTY- GET THE LOOK

Face

For flawless skin Fit Me Dewy + Smooth Foundation was used to contour the sides of the face with the FaceStudio Master Bronze Kit and glazed cheekbones with the gold highlighter from the Total Temptation Shadow + Highlight Palette.

Eyes

Arches were filled in with Total Temptation Brow Definer and top and bottom lashes were lined with EyeStudio Lasting Drama Waterproof Gel Pencil in Sleek Onyx and blended out the pigment for a sultry, smoky finish. Next, she topped the liner with black shadow from the Total Temptation Shadow + Highlight Palette and popped the pearly powders from the Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kits in Untamed and Venomous across lids for a multidimensional metallic sheen.

Brow bones and inner corner of eyes were illuminated with Master Chrome Highlighter in Molten Gold and the waterline was rimmed with Lasting Drama Lightliner in Starlight Gold for a brightening effect. Lashes were topped off with Total Temptation Washable Mascara in Blackest Black.

Lips

For more dimension, lips were layered with Color Sensational Creamy Matte Lipstick in Burgundy Blush with the gold lip shadow from the Lip Studio Python Metallic Lip Kit.
